Getting Ready to Celebrate!

Three days until we can celebrate the birth of Christ!

2,000 years ago on the other side of the world Jesus was born in place where no one would

believe a King could be born. A manger.

Christ came to save the world from sin.  We have not seen but we believe. I want to encourage

you this year to take time to read Luke 2, it is the Birth of Jesus.

Luke 2:11-12:

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

As Holiday Nears

I have not posted for awhile and thought I would just reflect on the past few weeks that have gone by SO fast. First of all the weather has been so cold and I am always trying to keep warm.

Well I'm sure many of you are trying to keep warm...

Thanksgiving went by fast but at that time I really got to take time and really praise God for what He has done for me. As the next big holiday nears, Christmas, I am now being remembered of God's love more and more.

Jesus' coming is the greatest thing that ever happend to this world.

I also have some pictures that I have taken over the past few weeks that I would like to share and of course they were taken in warmer weather!

God has also been at work in many areas of my life and others and I just want to give thanks to Him. Some days can be really tough and I look back and just think, "God really helped me stand through that all."

So to end this brief reflection, here are some smiles of my sisters Kristen and Sara:

Owl City Concert 2011

I got the privilege to see Adam Young perform live this November 2011. It was an amazing

experience! I personally enjoyed myself and even lost my voice toward the end of the concert!

Here are just a few of the ba-zillion pictures that I took!

The Snow Comes Early this Season!

It's late October and what do you know but it's snowing!? A little early if I do say so myself!

I woke up this morning to my youngest brother and sisters running around the house yelling, " It's snowing, it's snowing!" The littlest things in life bring such joy! I want to share some pictures that I took of this North-East Snowstorm. Of course we aren't getting it as bad as others...

Fall Days

As the season is starting to set in and the leaves are turning color, I am also dressing for the cool fall weather! I absolutely love this season! Pennsylvania has some wonderful scenic views that I have been able to enjoy for almost 9 years and each season brings somethings new to look forward too. I took some pictures yesterday after our church had a wonderful fall festival which included, pumpkin carving, apple cider, and Carmel apples!

Sunday Sun-Set. Just amazed at God hand-work!

A Storm of Many Storms.

I got to take some pictures of today's storm that lasted for about 10 min. but I never get tired of watching them even if they are sweet and short! There is a quote that I want to share with you,

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain."

Family

Being part of a family of eight is a blessing. Including myself there are six of us children...all home-schooled. My mom is a hard working woman, who cooks, cleans, and teaches every single day. She is a great mentor to my life and a godly Christian women who I adore. My dad is such an amazing person. He has taught me so much about the Lord and I thank him for doing so! Like many, our house is our home. We do everything here! We learn, we grow and help each other in our weak areas. I've been around home my whole life and there is so much life to mine! The youngest of the crew is Cole, who brings joy and laughter to us all. The above picture is a craft that he made with his sisters Sara and Kristen. I love watching them grow up! So as this is the first of many blogs to come, I hope that you will take time to spend time with your family because they are going to be the most important people in your lives. I want to leave you with this poem that we have sitting on our shelves:

This is a Home Where Children Live

You may not find things all in place,
Friend, when you enter here.
But we’re a home where children live,
We hold them very dear.

And you may find small fingerprints
And smudges on the wall.
When the kids are gone, we’ll clean them up,
Right now we’re playing ball.

For there’s one thing of which we’re sure,
These children are on loan.
One day they’re always underfoot,
Next thing you know, they’re gone.

That’s when we’ll have a well-kept house,
When they’re off on their own.
Right now, this is where children live,
A loved and lived-in home.
